Learning by doing - general description.
22.09.2019
The goal of the workshop is to acquaint students at all levels to basic concepts and advanced
electrochemical techniques by short tutorial lectures and hands-on experience.
Part I: Tutorial lectures (9:00-13:00)
Part II: Hands-on experiments (14:00-17:30)
Participants carry out a small research excursion and investigate a central thematic topic by using
five different electrochemical methods. The participants will depart to five sub-groups to carry
out one of the experiments with the guidance/assistance of a hosting graduate student or postdoc.
This year workshop thematic topic is: Electrochemical reactions of Dopamine, and we intend
to investigate aspects of this topic using the following techniques:
Part III: Analysis and discussion (a.k.a food, drinks and science; 18:00-19:00)
The sub-groups gather to present and discuss their results.
Additional information:
The tutorials will take place at the Chemical Engineering seminar room, Bldg. 59, 2nd floor. We will start at 9:00. Coffee and cookies will be served in the next door meeting room. The tutorials will be given in English.
At 14:00, after lunch (provided, courtesy of the Electrochemical Society Israeli section!), we will split into four groups, each will go to a different lab to carry a basic and an advanced experiment/demo related to dopamine electrochemistry.
lab coats and safety goggles will be provided . Please wear closed shoes, long pants, and hair bands if needed.
